Mr. Mayhem is a prototype for a platformer developed in Unity, where you play as a Ripper trying to escape the underworld by saving corrupted souls.
Inspired by games like Katana Zero (one-hit death mechanics) and Mario vs. Donkey Kong (level-based progression), the game challenges players to defeat enemies and collect their souls to redeem them.
The more souls you collect, the higher your rating—up to a maximum of 3 stars per level. You start each level with one life, but as you gather more souls, you gain extra lives to retry when you fail. This creates a balance of risk and reward that shapes the gameplay loop.
In the final boss level, the total number of souls you’ve collected influences your chances to win, as they grant additional retries in the fight.
